USTAD HAMID KABULI

Hamid Kabuli is a master artist in Afghanistan. Mr. Kabuli is an Associate professor at Kabul University, teaching there since 2002. Before that, he taught at the Art Academy in Kiev, Ukraine.  He speaks Russian, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto, and English. His art has been exhibited in Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, China, and India. He uses many different styles, including Realism, Impressionism, Abstract, Calligraphy (Farsi/Arabic) Mediums: Oil, watercolor, pencil, pen, chalk, pastels.

Like Mr. Faryad, he takes risks others perhaps would not take, and his genius is evidenced in his paintings. His specialty is Impressionism and Realism.  The idyllic beauty seen in Mr. Kabuli's art as well as the impressionist and realistic art painted by other master painters show a different view of Afghanistan, a place where families live and love.

"Just as there are more humans in the world, my soul has more things to say. But words are not sufficient. Seeing a dried branch of cactus in a calm situation under a hot sun tells me a secret which cannot be placed into words.

Words and colors are innocent and wild in their beginning, but as they come under control, step-by-step, more and more possibilities are found for expressing ideas.

The beauty of some ideas and imaginations cannot be defined. If we try to define them, it would take many books. It is the painting which defines them in one page."
